Weekend OTR Repairs Coordinator
I am looking for a reliable, detail-oriented coordinator to manage over-the-road (OTR) maintenance and repair events across our fleet. You will act as the primary point of contact for drivers experiencing equipment issues, ensuring units remain safe, compliant, and operational while protecting company resources.

Shift & Compensation

• Schedule: Every Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM EDT (12-hour shifts)
• Pay: $100 to $125 per shift (commensurate with experience)
• Status: Weekend Part-Time / Independent Contractor

Core Responsibilities

• Driver Intake & Root-Cause Investigation: Interview drivers when issues arise, gather visual evidence (photos/videos), and check Samsara fault codes and maintenance history to diagnose root causes before dispatching vendors.
• Route vs. Repair Evaluation: Assess whether a truck can safely reach our yard or use a temporary fix rather than defaulting to expensive roadside service.
• Estimate Review & Cost Control: Review vendor estimates to ensure they are fully itemized (parts, labor hours, service fees). Challenge excessive labor hours, question inflated pricing, and explore lower-cost alternatives.
• Approval & Escalation: Authorize legitimate, justified repairs within designated approval limits. Escalate major mechanical issues, towing requests, and non-standard expenses through the proper leadership chain.
• Documentation & Follow-Up: Maintain clear case files detailing the reported symptoms, root causes, authorized repairs, and cost justifications to track repeat failures and warranty claims.

What We Are Looking For

• Previous experience in logistics dispatch, fleet coordination, or commercial truck maintenance/repairs.
• Working knowledge of commercial truck systems (air systems, brakes, tires, emissions/DEF, electrical) and DOT safety compliance.
• Familiarity with ELD/telematics platforms (e.g., Samsara).
• Strong critical-thinking skills—someone who solves the actual problem rather than approving the first quick fix.
• Clear, assertive communication skills for handling drivers, roadside vendors, and internal leadership.
