About the role
SUPERNOVA Log-Tech is looking for an experienced leader to build and run the Opendeck department, covering Flatbed, Stepdeck and related equipment, in our U.S. dispatch operation. You will own results, manage the dispatch team and set the standards for how we work with drivers, owner-operators and brokers.
What you will do
- Lead and develop a team of Flatbed and Stepdeck dispatchers
- Set department targets (gross, rate per mile, truck utilization) and track them daily and weekly
- Control load quality, rate negotiation and booking discipline across the team
- Build and maintain relationships with key brokers and shippers
- Handle escalations: delays, breakdowns, claims, securement and permit issues
- Onboard, train and coach new dispatchers; run regular performance reviews
- Work with the Hiring Manager and management on fleet growth and driver retention
- Improve processes, reporting and use of TMS and load boards
What we are looking for
- At least 3 years of dispatching experience in the U.S. trucking market, with a strong focus on Flatbed and Stepdeck freight
- Previous experience managing a team (team lead, senior dispatcher or department head)
- Solid knowledge of open-deck specifics: oversize/overweight loads, permits, tarping, securement, multi-stop and partial loads
- Fluent English and strong negotiation skills
- Analytical approach to rates, lanes and profitability
- Ability to make quick decisions and remain calm under pressure
- Experience with TMS and load boards (DAT, Truckstop or similar)
